Vicosap is the trade name of Công ty TNHH Chế biến Dừa sáp Cầu Kè, a food producer registered on 16 July 2020 in Tam Ngãi commune, Vĩnh Long province (before July 2025: Trà Vinh), in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. It deep-processes “wax coconut” (dừa sáp; botanically macapuno), a soft-flesh coconut variety grown around Cầu Kè, into a range of shelf-stable products — coconut strands, candies, freeze-dried snacks, yoghurt snacks and nutrition bars — rather than selling only the fresh fruit. The name is formed from VI (Vietnam) + CO (coconut) + SAP (sáp / wax).

The company was founded by Trần Duy Linh (co-founder / CEO), a Cầu Kè native, and Lâm Ngọc Tú (co-founder). Their stated aim was to be the first to deep-process a fruit that had historically been sold only fresh and locally.

OCOP is Vietnam’s government product-grading scheme, rated 1–5 stars; 5-star is the top national tier. HVNCLC (“High-Quality Vietnamese Goods”) is a consumer- and standards-based label administered by the BSA.

Sourcing and production

Vicosap sits at the deep-processing and commercialisation stage of the coconut value chain, sourcing from the Cầu Kè wax-coconut area (formerly Trà Vinh), which the company describes as Vietnam’s wax-coconut heartland. According to figures in the company profile (retrieved 2026-07-31), the district had about 3,878 ha of coconut overall as of June 2023, of which wax coconut accounted for roughly 75,000 trees producing over 200,000 fruit per year; a wax-coconut bunch typically yields only 20–40% wax fruit, the rest resembling ordinary coconut. The company reports a supply link with the Hòa Tân wax-coconut cooperative and use of freeze-drying and automated packing under ISO 9001:2015. These are self-reported figures; see limitations below.

Markets

Domestically, the company reports retail through SASCO and Emart, five major airports (Tân Sơn Nhất, Cần Thơ, Đà Nẵng, Cam Ranh, Phú Quốc), and the Shopee, Tiki and Sendo marketplaces.

Limitations of this data

  • We have not visited the facility. All figures (SKU count, tree and fruit counts, hectares, product tiers, export dates, prices) are self-reported by the company or drawn from public profiles as of 2026-07-31, and are not independently audited here.
  • The “first to deep-process wax coconut” claim and the Vietnam Record are the company’s own recognitions; we have not verified them against an independent registry beyond what the source states.
  • The AUD price per fruit is a reported figure from the source and may vary by season and channel.
  • Certification and OCOP tiers reflect what the company reports; we have not inspected the underlying certificates or their current validity.
